sustainable leadership audit
The financial crisis and subsequent recession has demonstrated the pressing need for leaders who serve the long-term health of the organisation and its broader environment, rather than their own narrow self-interest. Our research points to the pivotal role played by three factors in the emergence of such leaders, and thus the responsible management of the business:
- The leader’s psychological and physiological health
- The extent to which the organisational work environment and culture fosters a responsible approach to work
- The capability of leaders to work effectively in teams
The integration of these three factors has considerable influence on the effectiveness with which leaders manage risk as well as the quality of their strategic decision-making. It also shapes the quality of leaders’ interaction with employees. This, in turn, substantially determines how employees engage with customers and thus has profound consequences for the customer experience and ultimately the brand.
Many organisations pay attention to some of these factors, but few see them as an integrated whole.
We enable management teams to audit and develop in order to make a step change in sustainable performance.
